Since the first appearance of SARS-CoV-2 in late 2019, new variants of the virus continue to emerge, leading to changes in disease severity and compromising the effectiveness of vaccination and treatment. In accordance with international recommendations for genomic surveillance of pathogens, Burkina Faso has established a national surveillance system for SARS-CoV-2 variants adapted to its context to monitor the dynamics of the virus in the country. This poster describes the implementation of the integrated monitoring system.
